Tips for Parents: Pain-free shots
Painful injections in childhood are no fun for children, parents, or healthcare providers. Most people think of pain as an unavoidable part of childhood immunization, but more and more experts are coming to realize that it can and should be prevented. This 20-minute documentary addresses the growing problem of immunization pain, needle fears, and health care avoidance, and looks at how parents and health care providers can help reduce or prevent pain during childhood immunization.

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC), a non-profit organization, works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. IAC also facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, healthcare organizations, and government health agencies.
